2004-08-23 [Adnama]: Well. An easy way to get the right color is to take a screenshot of the background color that you want and paste the screenshot into Photoshop and draw the color out of the screenshot. ^_^

The button should be located somewhere around the "Insert" key and "Home" key on your keyboard, most likely above it. Some keyboards are weird so I can't tell you exactly where it's at. X3 And that's the only way I know how to screenshot something. :x

2004-08-23 [65tyjvw45b]: Yeah, the colours do change when you convert. But, everyone should have the same RGB values when they take a screenshot and use the colour picker to begin with. Maybe it has something to do with everyone's OS too? I use Windows XP. Perhaps our screenshots are actually different to begin with? That would explain the whole thing. But, that wouldn't explain why I can't see that mine are perfect looking while other people's are way way off eventhough they say they can't see a difference. When I used the Hex codes for it and made an image I was too embarassed to even use the images because it was way off. Oh well.

Then paste it into an image editor like MSPaint and use the Paint Bucket to fill the wiki page's background. If the colour spills into your image a great deal then its perfect. But, if it does this and doesn't spill into your image at all then its off:

2004-08-24 [65tyjvw45b]: Hey, you are using a different type of broswer! That may totally explain what the problem is with everything being different. The browser's each have a different way of reading the colours, because of the way they are programmed. I just checked it on Opera. Your pic looks perfect on Opera but on IE it way off. My stuff for both background types looks perfect on both my Opera and IE browser's.

2004-08-25 [65tyjvw45b]: It seems that we are all correct in the different RGB colour values because each different Web Broswer shows the colours differently. So, when we do screen captures we are all getting different RGB values in Photoshop. I tested that with IE and Opera and found that out.

2004-08-26 [65tyjvw45b]: It's the same for both. People get different vaules on any colour becasue their browsers are different. Some colours may work a bit better with all browsers than other colours.

The do, however, work correctly when uploading to wiki-pages. Unfortunately, doing an overhaul of all the current buttons is out of the question; the text colour still conflicts, and it just isn't practical..How
